Children’s family relationships are the most important thing in their lives. At Kids Campus at Santa Fe Community College, our goal is to encourage a partnership between parents and teachers so they can learn from each other and share what is important to them. Family-teacher conferences are scheduled twice a year, as well as at the request of a parent or guardian.
Parent involvement is vital to our program. Families are welcome to visit their children anytime during our regular hours, to have breakfast or lunch with them, to participate in classroom activities and attend fieldtrips. Please inform the front desk know that you have come to visit. Visitors, other than family, will be asked to sign in and wear a visitor’s badge.
We visit each child’s home to learn about the home environment and the child’s learning styles so we can better address his or her unique needs.
If your family prefers to communicate in Spanish, we can provide an on-site translator.
Parents of children with special needs will be asked for advice about necessary accommodations and therapy requirements.
